Position Summary

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving the growth of retail financial products, with a focus on Deposits, Bancassurance, and Consumer Loans. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing relationships with individual and corporate clients, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and achieving sales targets. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven professional with a deep understanding of retail products and excellent sales and negotiation skills.

Duties and Responsibilities of Business Development Manager

  • Business Development and Sales Strategy
  • Develop and implement sales plans to achieve product-specific targets for deposits, bancassurance, and consumer loans.
  • Identify and pursue new customer acquisition opportunities through market research, networking, and field activities.
  • Generate leads and convert them into long-term clients by understanding their financial needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, activity reports, and strategic recommendations to management.
  • Organize and participate in marketing activities, client meetings, and corporate presentations to promote products and build brand awareness.
  • Consumption Loan Product
  • Sell consumption loan products individually through corporate channel as per customer profiles.
  • Conduct credit assessments and liaise with branches and credit departments for loan approvals.
  • Ensure adherence to lending policies and documentation requirements.
  • Follow up on disbursements and manage post-sale service and delinquency monitoring.
  • Deposits Products
  • Promote savings products including normal saving accounts, terms deposits, recurring deposits, and high-net-worth deposit products.
  • Conduct customer onboarding and KYC processes in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor and maintain relationships to ensure deposit retention and growth.
  • Bancassurance (Insurance Sales via Corporate Channel)
  • Collaborate with insurance partners to promote Sathapana Limited’s insurance products, especially to corporate and B2B Channel.
  • Explain product features, benefits, and policy terms to customers.
  • Assist customers in completing application forms and ensure proper documentation is collected.
  • Track insurance renewals and cross-sell additional products as needed.
  • Relationship Management and Compliance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.
  • Provide timely customer service and resolve complaints and queries effectively.
  • Ensure all activities comply with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Prepare reports on sales performance, market/customer feedback, and business pipeline status.
  • Act as the primary contact point for key clients, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery.
  • Maintain customer records, contracts, and communication logs with accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in retail banking or financial product sales.
  • Proven track record in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Knowledge of deposit products, retail lending, and insurance solutions.
