Position Summary

The Assistant Unit Manager – Data Center & Network Administration is responsible for assisting in the management and operations of the Data Center (DC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) infrastructure. This includes monitoring, reporting, upgrading, and troubleshooting information systems. The role involves supporting network performance monitoring, firmware and OS upgrades, VLAN configuration, and troubleshooting of network devices, including routers, switches, security devices such as Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), Web Application Firewalls (WAF), proxies, and LAN/WAN protocols like HSRP, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS. The position also requires knowledge of SD-WAN technology, load balancing, IPsec, SSL VPN, and basic Linux/Unix operations. Additionally, the Assistant Unit Manager will support cybersecurity initiatives and regulatory compliance efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities of Business Development Manager

  • Manages day-to-day operation, hardware server, storage, installation, configuration operating system, and application, and records the system downtime and equipment inventory.
  • Develops hardware and storage, testing procedures to ensure operational reliability.
  • Performs troubleshooting as required, as such, leads to problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support users.
  • Establishes, maintains, and manages user accounts and super user (root) of Linux, AIX and UNIX.
  • Installs, modifies, and maintains systems and utility software on server systems
  • Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of the critical host server computer and storage resources.
  • Develop procedures to maintain server, storage, and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse, procedures, programs, and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications and coordinating project directions and schedules to maximize benefits and minimize impacts to the microfinance.
  • Manages the data centers and servers including hardware servers, storage, operating system application software and equipment such as air-conditioning system, UPS (uninterrupted power system) and fire protection system, etc.
  • Provides escalated technical support that requires an on-site presence (network or PC equipment failure), including OS data backup recovery.
  • Designs and implements short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacity to meet existing and future requirements.
  • Practices network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, life cycle management, and related documentation.
  • Manages and ensures optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and so on.
  • Tests network performance and provides network performance statistics and reports
  • Directs and administrates a contingent of network analysis, and technicality, where it is necessary to conduct performance reviews and corrective action including network infrastructure and ISP internet gateways.
  • Leads on the installation/configuration and maintenance of DNS, firewall and other security, traffic shaping, caching and filtering, installation and configuration of Cisco, Wireless (WFI), router and VPN.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in data center management, network administration, or IT infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with networking technologies, including Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, F5, ASA Firewalls, and SD-WAN solutions.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning, virtualization technologies (VMware, ESXi, NSX), and storage platforms.

  • Minimum two years working experience in related field and troubleshooting Palo Alto, F5, Fortinet Firewall, Cisco Switch, ASA firewall, SAN, Smart Rack and Smart Cabinet
  • Experience working with relational Systems such as, Oracle Database Server, VMware (vSphere, ESXi, NSX), Linux, Microsoft, Storage Platforms, Cisco, Backup Technologies and Data Center facilities
  • Strong understanding of VPN tunnels, NAT, PAT, failover, backup, and restore procedures.
  • Knowledge of Linux, UNIX, Windows Server, and database systems such as Oracle.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and performance analysis
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive with a strong sense of responsibility.
