On March 28, 2025, at approximately 12:50 PM, a powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 struck central Myanmar. The epicenter was about ten miles from Sagaing city, causing severe destruction and casualties in the Mandalay, Sagaing, Naypyidaw, Bago Regions and Shan State.
