Sathapana Branch Management Workshop – 2025 Lotte Hotel, Yangon (08-03-2025)

SATHAPANA Limited conducted its Branch Management Workshop 2025 at Lotte Hotel, Yangon, on 8 March 2025. The event brought together CXOs, HODs, Deputy HODs, and Managers from Head Office, Regions, and Branches. It focused on annual strategic planning, achievements, challenges, and the way forward.

CEO Mr. Sudeep Gupta inaugurated the workshop by welcoming participants and appreciating the efforts of the Admin and Marketing teams for the dedication and hardwork in making this important workshop possible. He highlighted:

  • SATHAPANA’s significant growth since its inception in 2015, operating in 11 regions, serving nearly 300,000 clients, and managing a loan portfolio of MMK ~250 billion.
  • The launch of two new products: a Term Deposit Product and a “Life Insurance Product” in partnership with Capital Taiyo Life Insurance Limited.
  • Recognition of team resilience amidst challenges like armed conflicts, interest rate changes by CBM, and natural disasters in 2024.

CEO emphasised teamwork, innovation, and a client-centric approach as keys to continued success, encouraging participants to align with SATHAPANA’s mission and embrace the opportunities ahead.

DCEO Mr. Yuji Muto commended the daily efforts of branch managers and staff. He stressed:

  1. Adherence to policies and procedures for unified organisational strength.
  2. Close observation and engagement with subordinates to boost motivation and prevent fraud.
  3. Training and succession planning as essential responsibilities of branch managers.

DCEO urged everyone to end the financial year successfully and prepare for the coming challenges with a renewed focus.

Workshop Highlights

  • Regional Reviews, and Strategies for Years Ahead: CEO and COO.
  • Financial Overview: CFO presented company financials and projections.
  • Business Plans: Regional and Branch Managers shared their current year performances and also plans and strategies for next financial year FY’25, with Q&A from CEO.
  • Bancassurance Overview: The Senior Head of Marketing discussed the new insurance product and its business potential.
  • Awards Ceremony: Recognitions included the Exemplary Performance Award, Long Serving Award, and Best Performing Branch Award for FY 2024, It was celebrated with loads of applause and excitement.

CEO Mr. Gupta concluded the event by:

  • Reflecting on achievements and addressing challenges with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Reaffirming SATHAPANA’s commitment to ethics, client-centricity, innovation, teamwork, and proactive risk management.
  • Setting goals such as growing the business by 20%, reducing PAR, focusing on digital collections and Insurance, etc.

CEO further encouraged participants to reflect on:

  • Enhancing collection performance ethically and transparently.
  • Balancing operational control with empowerment.
  • Innovating to meet client needs effectively.

The workshop ended with group photographs, followed by dinner, leaving attendees motivated and aligned for the year ahead.
